Highlighted Project: Langley Memorial Hospital

Kani has completed seismic upgrade work on many hospitals in the Lower Mainland over the past 30 years. One particular hospital that Kani has completed various phases throughout the years is Langley Memorial Hospital. As a community hospital, Langley Memorial Hospital provides a range of primary and secondary services, along with some specialty services, including 24/7 emergency, general and internal medicine, general surgery, select surgical specialties, and maternity and nursery specialties.

Working at hospitals presents certain unique challenges. Kani has managed to successfully implement creative solutions to constraints such as:

Maintaining low noise levels
Minimizing vibrations as many of Kani’s projects are adjacent to key Hospital areas, such as surgery rooms and delivery rooms
Directing exhausts away from any air intake
Working within critical timelines as some of the work may be close to operating rooms
Maintaining access for patients, staff, other construction subtrades, while working in tight working and laydown areas
Working in infection control zones, requiring workers to exercise caution while performing work and follow strict safe work procedures

Not every drilling contractor can operate within such demanding constraints but Kani has been hired time and time again for their quality and efficiency. Kani's expertise and experience means we continue to contribute largely to the many ongoing seismic upgrades of hospitals around the Lower Mainland.
