Seismic Drains

Seismic drains (or earthquake drains) have proven to mitigate liquefaction and containment of densified ground. As much ground densification work has been done in this area, seismic drains allow water to enter freely through corrugated drains tightly wrapped in filter cloth, while preventing fine particles from entering the pipes. Kani provides the design and construction of seismic drains in earthquake zones throughout Canada.

Seismic drains can be made from two materials:

• PVC Pipe - Stronger and stiff material
• HDPE Pipe - Softer and more bendable plastic

Deep Hole Instrumentation

Kani has had experience with deep hole instrumentation, as many of these projects involve drilling deep holes and require high level of alignment accuracy, to enable the installation of Geotechnical instrumentations.
